Criminal Defense
With the combined experience of almost forty years and countless felony cases, Warren & Burstein is a leader in criminal defense. Jeremy has been a California State Bar Certified Specialist in Criminal Law for more than a decade, and has been recognized by his peers as a Criminal Law Super Lawyer from 2008 through 2014. Devin has achieved a remarkable level of success in his criminal practice, including over 20 victories in the Ninth Circuit. We routinely receive referrals from top civil law firms when their clients have criminal exposure.

Appellate Representation
At Warren & Burstein, appellate representation is a principal focus. Successful appellate representation requires attention to detail and the ability to turn those details into compelling arguments. These are the skills we bring to every case.
We regularly appear before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on all manner of criminal cases and have amassed a lengthy record of victories (recent victories).
We also have considerable expertise in state-court appeals, working with clients in both California and New York. Our work extends to assisting clients and other attorneys with petitions for certiorari to the United States Supreme Court and with petitions for leave to appeal to the New York Court of Appeals.
Civil Litigation
Warren & Burstein accepts select civil cases in which our experience is especially beneficial. Cases in which the government is a party are particularly well suited to our expertise.
We also have considerable experiencing defending people and entities in TRIA lawsuits, where they are unjustly accused of being agencies or instrumentalities of a terrorist organization, and have blocked assets at risk in the United States.
We maintain close relationships with leading civil-litigation attorneys in San Diego and New York, providing our clients the bi-coastal reach often required in complex matters. As with all of our work, we are committed to providing the best possible representation.
OFAC Representation
Warren & Burstein regularly represents individuals and entities who have been sanctioned or "designated" by the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC). These designations result in the government freezing and blocking all of the designee's U.S. assets. We aid our clients in seeking removal from the OFAC list.
